WoW Forever companion pet
Lifelike Toad
Lifelike Toad is a high-level Vanilla Classic Engineering companion crafted from the world-drop Schematic: Lifelike Mechanical Toad. Engineers need 265 skill to build it, while non-engineers can simply buy the bind-on-use finished pet.

How to get Lifelike Toad
Learn Schematic: Lifelike Mechanical Toad, a high-level world-drop Engineering recipe, and reach Engineering 265. Craft the Lifelike Mechanical Toad with 1 Living Essence, 4 Thorium Widgets, 1 Gold Power Core, and 1 Rugged Leather. The finished pet binds when used, so collectors without Engineering can buy a crafted toad from another player or the Auction House.
Find or buy the world-drop schematic
Schematic: Lifelike Mechanical Toad is not taught by an Engineering trainer. Wowhead's Classic Engineering guide identifies it as a high-level world drop.
The schematic can also appear from sources such as Mithril Lockboxes and, rarely, the Gurubashi Arena Chest. Because it is tradable, the Auction House is often more practical than deliberately farming for it.
Craft the toad at Engineering 265
The recipe requires one Living Essence, four Thorium Widgets, one Gold Power Core, and one Rugged Leather.
Unlike Lil' Smoky and Pet Bombling, there is no Engineering specialization requirement. Any engineer with the schematic and 265 skill can craft it.
Non-engineers can buy the finished companion
Lifelike Mechanical Toad binds when used rather than when crafted.
That means another engineer can make it for you, and the finished pet can be sold or traded before a collector summons it.
Talented engineers have crafted an exact replica of a wood frog, at only ten times the cost of buying the real thing.
