How to get Sprite Darter Hatchling
Alliance players begin with Freedom for All Creatures from Kindal Moonweaver in Feralas around 65, 45. Complete both Doling Justice quests, return from Darnassus to Feralas for An Orphan Looking For a Home, then continue through A Short Incubation, The Newest Member of the Family, Food for Baby, and Becoming a Parent. Bring 2 Elixirs of Fortitude for A Short Incubation. The Newest Member of the Family gives you one hour to carry the Fragile Sprite Darter Egg from Quentin in Thousand Needles to Agnar Beastamer at Aerie Peak. Becoming a Parent rewards the Sprite Darter Egg. The egg binds on pickup, so Horde characters cannot obtain the Vanilla quest reward through cross-faction trade.
Start with Freedom for All Creatures in Feralas
The chain begins with Kindal Moonweaver on the ridge above the Grimtotem compound in Feralas, around 65, 45. It is Alliance-only in Vanilla Classic.
Complete Freedom for All Creatures, then both quests named Doling Justice. One of those steps sends you to Tyrande Whisperwind in Darnassus.
Return to Feralas after Darnassus
This chain is easy to lose because the next quest does not begin in Darnassus. Return to the Moonweavers in Feralas for An Orphan Looking For a Home, which sends you to Quentin at Mirage Raceway in Thousand Needles.
Bring two Elixirs of Fortitude before you make that trip. Quentin asks for them during A Short Incubation.
The egg delivery is timed
After A Short Incubation, The Newest Member of the Family gives you a Fragile Sprite Darter Egg and one hour to reach Agnar Beastamer at Aerie Peak in The Hinterlands.
Having the relevant flight paths before starting the timer makes this step much safer.
Feed the hatchling and become a parent
Agnar follows with Food for Baby, which requires five Silvermane Stalker Flanks from the eastern Hinterlands.
Turn those in and complete Becoming a Parent to receive the Sprite Darter Egg, which summons the Sprite Darter Hatchling.
Horde cannot trade for the Vanilla quest reward
The Sprite Darter Egg binds on pickup. In Vanilla Classic, that makes this specific quest-chain version Alliance-only and prevents Neutral Auction House transfer.
Later patches changed the pet's availability, but those post-Vanilla sources are not used for this acquisition guide.
