How to get Green Wing Macaw
Run The Deadmines and loot enemies throughout the dungeon for a chance at the Parrot Cage (Green Wing Macaw). Wowhead's Classic companion guide estimates the drop chance at roughly 3-6%, while noting that Classic-era statistics may have shifted. The cage binds when used, so it can also be traded or purchased on the Auction House.
Loot enemies throughout The Deadmines
Green Wing Macaw is not tied to one named boss. The Classic companion guide lists enemies throughout the dungeon as possible sources, with Defias pirates being the most commonly reported drops.
That makes a full Deadmines clear useful for pet farming because every eligible enemy is another chance at the cage.
Expect a much friendlier farm than Hyacinth Macaw
Wowhead's Classic guide estimates the Green Wing Macaw at roughly a 3-6 percent drop chance, though it also notes that the rate may have changed during Classic and the exact statistics are not perfectly settled.
Compared with the extremely rare Hyacinth Macaw, this is a much more approachable bird to farm directly.
The cage can be traded
Parrot Cage (Green Wing Macaw) binds when used, so players can sell or trade it before learning the pet.
If you are already running The Deadmines for Siamese from Cookie, Green Wing Macaw is a natural second companion to watch for on the same runs.
The WoW Pet Journal describes Green Wing Macaw as a favored Defias pirate companion, useful for remembering passwords, lists, and other details a pirate might prefer not to write down.
