How to get Great Horned Owl
Alliance players can purchase Great Horned Owl from Shylenai, the Owl Trainer near the Warrior's Terrace entrance in Darnassus. Classic comments place her around 69, 45. The listed base price is 50 silver before reputation discounts. Great Horned Owl binds when used, so Horde collectors can obtain an unopened owl through the Neutral Auction House or another cross-faction trade.
Find Shylenai near the Warrior's Terrace
Shylenai stands near the eastern side of Darnassus by the Warrior's Terrace entrance. Historical Classic comments place her around 69, 45.
Purchase Great Horned Owl directly from her vendor inventory. Normal Darnassus reputation discounts can reduce the displayed price below the 50-silver base cost.
Buy Hawk Owl during the same visit
Shylenai sells both Great Horned Owl and Hawk Owl. Collectors who need both can complete the Darnassus owl-vendor set in one trip.
Great Horned Owl is the brown owl of the pair, while Hawk Owl uses the darker appearance.
Horde collectors can trade for the owl
Shylenai is an Alliance vendor in Darnassus, so Horde characters do not have the normal direct-purchase route.
Great Horned Owl binds when used. An Alliance player can therefore move an unopened owl through the Neutral Auction House or another cross-faction trade.
Night elf children are given an owl feather on their first birthday as a token of good luck.
